about

This album is an exploration of my day-to-day anxieties. From worrying about the state of our planet and political system, down to anxieties about my career, to wondering if I'm on Twitter too much to make any meaningful friendships.

I have a severe anxiety disorder. I don't like talking about it too much publicly because, God, I worry it will turn people off ("Back to Stone" covers this), but every day is an excersize in getting myself to stop worrying about something I did, said, or wrote. I have learned to live through it with therapy and some techniques I've learned to get myself through panic attacks, but fuck me if it isn't a struggle sometimes.

I have found in the last year or so writing music about it has been very helpful in coming to terms with my anxiety. I named the album Good Enough because it's a running theme, namely not being good enough. But while most of the songs are about not being good enough, I am actually very proud of what I've been able to create. I'm not the best musician in the world, but that I'm capable of making an album I love listening to and haven't gotten tired of after months and months of mixing and mastering is an achievement in it's own right. It's Good Enough for me, and I hope it's Good Enough for you too.

And I'm Good Enough. This may be a sad album, but writing it has been an incredibly lifting experience for me. Even if the music and lyrics don't 100% resonate with you, I hope you can find something to cling onto on this album that makes you feel just a little bit better about life.

Love,

David John Prince
